Step-by-step walkthrough

Prefer text to video? Every turn is below in order — which ring to turn, which way, roughly how far, and whose clamp it is clearing. Keep it open next to the game and work down the list.

Level 18 · Beginner · 10 actions, 3 folding bars. This is a text-only solve. Every bar is pulled along its silver sleeve; the rings are turned until their gaps meet a clamp.

This board mixes a broad ring layout with three bars: a red horizontal bar across the top, a green diagonal bar in the centre, and a purple short bar at the lower right. The top bar has to come out first because it pins the upper rings. The central orange ring is a closed carrier and is released only after the right side is clear.

How the pieces work

  • A turning ring has a gap. A clamp presses on its rim, and the ring comes free when the gap reaches that clamp.
  • A folding bar joins through a silver sleeve. Pull it along the sleeve, away from the ring it crosses.
  • The central orange ring is a closed circle. It is a carrier and does not turn until the pieces around it have been cleared.
  • The red horizontal bar is not a ring. It is a straight pull-out piece even though it lies across the top like a rim.
  • Some actions take a bar with them. The purple short bar leaves with the middle-right orange ring, and the green diagonal bar leaves with the upper-left orange ring.

Solution order

Step 1 — Pull the top red horizontal bar

  • Action: pull the red horizontal bar at the top out along both silver sleeves.
  • Why: it lies across the upper red and purple rings and pins both of them.
  • After this: the bar leaves and the upper rings loosen.

Step 2 — Turn the red ring above

  • Action: turn the red ring at the top until its gap reaches its clamp.
  • Why: the horizontal bar that crossed it is gone.
  • After this: the red ring drops.

Step 3 — Turn the upper-left purple ring

  • Action: turn the purple ring at the upper left until its gap meets its clamp.
  • Why: it is the next ring along the upper edge.
  • After this: the purple ring drops.

Step 4 — Turn the upper-right light green ring

  • Action: turn the light green ring at the upper right until its gap reaches its clamp.
  • Why: the top edge is clear and this ring is exposed.
  • After this: the light green ring and the blue ring beside it drop together.

Step 5 — Pull the right-hand light blue and orange assembly

  • Action: pull the light blue and orange connected assembly on the right out along its sleeve.
  • Why: it crosses the right side and has to leave before the middle-right orange ring can turn.
  • After this: the assembly leaves. Only the middle-right orange ring remains on that side.

Step 6 — Turn the middle-right orange ring

  • Action: turn the middle-right orange ring until its gap meets its clamp.
  • Why: the pull-out assembly that crossed it is gone.
  • After this: the orange ring drops, and the purple short bar at the lower right slides out with it.

Step 7 — Release the central orange closed ring

  • Action: turn/release the central orange closed ring now that the right side is clear.
  • Why: it is a carrier, so it could not move while the right-hand group was still pressing on it.
  • After this: the central orange ring drops.

Step 8 — Turn the upper-left orange ring

  • Action: turn the orange ring at the upper left until its gap reaches its clamp.
  • Why: it is the next ring on the left after the central carrier is gone.
  • After this: the orange ring drops, and the green diagonal bar in the centre slides out with it.

Step 9 — Turn the left-hand light blue ring

  • Action: turn the light blue ring on the left until its gap meets its clamp.
  • Why: the upper-left orange ring is gone and this side is now exposed.
  • After this: the light blue ring drops.

Step 10 — Turn the central blue ring

  • Action: turn the central blue ring until its gap reaches the final clamp.
  • Why: it is the last turning ring on the board.
  • After this: the central blue ring and the light blue ring at the lower left drop together, clearing the level.

Pro tips

  • Three bars, three different moments. The top red bar goes first, the purple short bar leaves with step 6, and the green diagonal bar leaves with step 8.
  • Do not confuse the red bar with the red ring. The bar is a straight pull at the top; the ring beside it is a turn at step 2.
  • The centre is a carrier. The orange closed ring is released at step 7, after the right side is clear.
  • The last turn takes a pair. The lower-left light blue ring has no separate step; it falls with the central blue ring.

Level 18 in short

Pull the top red bar, turn the upper red, purple and light green rings, pull the right-hand assembly, then turn the middle-right orange ring. Release the central orange carrier, turn the upper-left orange and left light blue rings, and finish with the central blue ring.
